Hurricane Claims May be Rejected on Yacht Insurance Policies

To make sure boat owners are covered experts state people must correspond to all the requirements which are stated in their policy.

Underwriters at Lloyds London are warning many yacht owners that if they are not taking the correct precautions which their policy requires then any claim they may have to take out could be rejected.

Yachtline are pointing out to yacht owners that it doesn’t matter who has taken out your insurance you must stick within the policy, some of these requirements include, maintaining the craft is seaworthy, exercising due care and diligence in using the craft, notify of all material facts that we need to know to evaluate risk. Lloyds of London are also informing boat owners that if they take the simple precautions as laid out in the policy then the number of claim losses will instantly be reduced. They further warn that with the hurricane season running from June 1st to November 30th it is vital that all precautions are watched closely to ensure the owner is covered.
