Winter Tyres Advised to Van Insurance Customers

A spokesperson for TyreSafe believes garages and retailers should encourage van drivers to switch to winter tyres.

Rob Beddis chairman of the company explains how drivers should revert to using tyres which are best suited to the conditions on the roads. He states that the winter tyres “are designed to perform more effectively in cold, wet conditions, dramatically reducing stopping distances”. He further added that the tyres are also an advantage in snowy conditions as the delicate cuts in the treads are designed to absorb this kind of precipitation.

TyreSafe were set up over 16 years ago with the aim to promote the dangers of used and defective worn tyres.
