New camera technology could make insurance claims much more simple for van firms.

Roger Heels of West Horsley Dairy, Surrey, said: "The cameras act as a constant witness and we can see precisely what happened in situations where formerly it would just be one driver's word against another's."

To prove that the technology is working, Dairy has already found the technology has allowed one driver to prove his innocence in a incident with a taxi. The cameras work on a loop system which allows them to store 30-second clips of what happens, so when a incident takes place the technology can be used to see who was at fault. The technology will clearly be able to make such van insurance claims much easier.
