Ten Point Plan Supporting the UK Downturn
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has written to the Prime Minister outlining a number of measurers that could be effective in supporting the UK economy during the current downturn.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) have written a ten point plan to the prime minister outlining certain measures which could help support the economy in the economic downturn. One of the core reasons behind the plan is to highlight the increasing dangers of credit insurers withdrawing cover and in doing so forcing some companies out of business. The general director of CBI Richard Lambert has stated that “in recent weeks a number of companies have had trade credit cover withdrawn despite the fact they regard their credit practices as sound.” So the role of the suggested plan could see supporting credit insurers with guarantees or providing direct insurance to businesses which have had their cover withdrawn.
