No Motorbike Lock, No Claim!

A man had is motorbike stolen later finding it trashed had to replace it himself, due to the motorcyclists insurance not paying out as the bike was not locked when it was stolen.

Christopher Rideout found his Triumph Tiger 955i missing on October 9th then a few weeks later found the bike had been involved in an accident with a car, Mr Rideout’s bike was so badly damaged it was beyond repair. Mr Rideout later stated that after speaking to his motorcycle insurance firm that, “they are not going to pay out because the bike wasn’t locked” even though Mr Rideout had already told the insurers the bike wouldn’t be locked when taking out the policy.

In Cirencester motorcyclists are being given free bike locks for parking in the town centre the kind gesture has been issued by the Cotswold district council.

All motorcyclists need to ensure they have adequate motorbike insurance.
