Jewellery Claims on Increase

A major handler of jewellery insurance claims, The Jewellery Replacement Company, has increased the resources in it's claims department following a marked increase in claims frequency.

The company offers a free validation service with staff specifically trained to deal with jewellery validation.  This specialisation allows them to offer a 24 hour validation service.

The firms Claims Director, Norman Bick, claims that this service is a great help to insurance companies and loss adjusters:  “For years, the industry has been littered with inflated jewellery values with insurance companies authorising payments for jewellery items which are not in relation to market values.

"The jeweller’s allegiance lays with their customer not the insurance company and, therefore, their validation cannot be considered from an unbiased view point. Other validation companies also have affiliations to jewellery outlets, therefore, not being able to offer impartial advice. We appreciate claims personnel are not jewellery experts and need a quick and professional service. That is exactly what we specialise in.”
