Fireworks Displays May Not Be Covered by Home Insurance.

If you hold a fireworks display in your garden without the correct home insurance an injured party could claim against you, warns a leading UK insurer.

Mike Pickard, head of risk and underwriting at esure, states anyone who is in charge of a firework in their home should be responsible and avoid drinking alcohol.

The fire service state having fireworks at home can be great fun, as long as they are used safely, the information provided by the fire service states only one person should be in charge and if that’s you take all necessary precautions.

Mike Pickard states that if people are drunk or fail to follow instructions when setting off devices it could result in a claim against the individual, this may involve their earnings, property or any other possession. Whoever is in charge of any such event should follow all safety precautions, look at any fire service advise and in particular have control over whoever is watching the display.
