15 and 16 year Olds Gain Opportunity to Boost Driving Skills
50 young people are given chance to drive with their parents and a qualified driving instructor to gain driving techniques they will never forget.
AA driving school and Pathfinder are joining forces to allow 15 and 16 year old children the unique opportunity to gain some driving experience. Simon Douglas, director of AA Driving School, said: "Nationally, one in five young people are involved in a crash during their first year of driving, compared with one in 12 of those who have gone through the Under 17 Car Club." So the experience gained whilst driving under the supervision of their parents and a qualified driving instructor should have a lasting effect on the driving skills of the child.
Pathfinder is sponsored by Warwickshire county council Road Safety Unit, the AA Driving School, Jaguar Land Rover, and the Under 17 Car Club, and Douglas further added that he had no doubt the pathfinder course will help youngsters start their driving career responsibly.
