The purpose of this notice explains the purposes for which Superquote.com (a trading style of Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited) will use any personal data which we hold.
We regard the lawful and correct treatment of personal information by Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited as imperative to the correct running of our business and important to building confidence with our partners, suppliers and customers. We therefore need to ensure that our organisation treats personal information lawfully and correctly.
To this end, we fully endorse and adhere to the Principles of data protection, as set out in the Data Protection Act 1998. We are registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
Claims & Underwriting Exchange Register
Superquote.com works in partnership with a number of insurance providers depending on which product or service you are using.
Many insurers pass information to the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register and the Motor Insurance's Anti Fraud and Theft Register, run by the Association of British Insurers (ABI). This helps insurers prevent fraudulent claims.
When you get a quotation using one of our comparison services, the companies who provide quotations to you may search these registers.
In addition, with relation to car insurance, your details may be added to the motor insurance database. This database may be used by the DVLA / DVLNI for the purpose of licensing vehicles. The database may also be accessed by police for preventing and detecting crime. Superquote.com will not pass your details to the motor insurance database but if you buy a product from a partner on our site, they may well. Details of the database are available at www.miic.org.uk.
General Insurance Administration
Any information you supply through the Superquote.com website may be used by Superquote's selected partners for the purpose of general insurance administration.
Superquote.com will not, but our partners may, check other publicly available information about you such as, but not exclusive to, the electoral register, county court judgements or repossession information.
Marketing
Superquote.com and other companies of Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited, may use your information to keep you informed by post, telephone, email or other means of products and services which they feel may be of interest to you. These products may be from Endsleigh or from carefully selected third parties.

Credit Searches
In assessing your Application/Renewal, some insurance providers may search information made available to them through Credit Reference Agencies.
Superquote.com partners may also pass to credit reference agencies information they hold about you. Credit Reference Agencies sometimes share information with other organisations, enabling applications for finance to be assessed, or to prevent fraud including the detection of debtors.
Sensitive Data
The Data Controller in relation to the personal data you supply is Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited. We may collect data from you which the information commissioner and the data protection act would consider sensitive. By using our services, you indicate your intent to this information being processed by Superquote.com and its partner companies.
