Superquote Glossary - Stock

The stock of a business is the total amount of goods in hand or in store.  In business insurance terms, typically stock is an important term for retailers.  Many retailers need to ensure that their shop insurance policies cover the amount of stock they have.  Should a claim arise, for example from a fire, the retailer wants to ensure that they can claim for the stock they held at the time.

Some businesses have a high level of stock, such as jewellers and they often needs specialist jewellers insurance policies.
