Superquote Glossary - Registered Keeper of a Vehicle

Registered Keeper: An individual who looks after, and normally homes, a vehicle, but not necessarily the owner. As an example, you may individually use a car that is owned by another person in which case you would be the registered keeper.  This is often the case with company cars and vans where by the lease company or the business is the legal owner but the registered keeper maybe the employee who is driving the vehicle.

There are implications of this in terms of insurable interest.  Furthermore, if you are considering insuring a son on a parents policy follow the link for more information or read our glossary items on fronting and void policies.
