Superquote Terms: Flood Plain

Flood Plains are patches of land that are located next to water courses (streams and rivers) and are often submerged in water.  Many flood plains have been developed in recent decades, leading to areas of the UK where housing is at a high risk from flood.  Click here for UK Flood Insurance Hotspots.

The Environment Agency provide flood maps of the UK so that residents and businesses effected by flood can see their risk level.  They also issue regular flood warnings to help you prepare.

Flood is a big issue in insurance, if you are looking for flood home insurance, follow this link.
